Friendly and inclusive experimental alt-pop band seeks keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist
Description
We're an established alternative pop band who've recently released our third album on a small label and we're seeking a new member - ideally to play at least one of keyboards, trumpet and flute.
We run a monthly night near Finsbury Park on the 3rd Friday of each month. We've got contacts for potential gigs outside of London, and indeed the UK. In the past we've played Latitude and Swn, as well as doing bits and bots on Radio 1 and 6 Music, and we're aiming for festival shows in 2017.
We're a fairly versatile band and don't like to be too confined on what we do. I've attached a link to our most recent video, which was made by the creator of CBBC's Sarah & Duck. It's probably the most poppy song we've ever done but I think we envisage the next album as being quite narrative, quite dark and quite dancey. Our influences are fairly wide-ranging but Pulp, LCD Soundsystem, Mercury Rev, The Fall and Hot Chip probably aren't bad reference points for where our heads currently are...
We want someone who brings their own ideas and influences and who can help shape the band. The most important thing to us is getting some who we enjoy working with and who has a good sense of dynamics and can adapt and vary their playing to suit the needs of the song. Being a multi-instrumentalist would be a big help but we'll consider people who can play one of the above instruments too.
We'll welcome applicants from any age, background or gender identity. Disabled musicians are very welcome to apply and we're happy to make any reasonable adjustments necessary to meet your access requirements.
