Description
For sale is my freshwater tropical aquarium. I will be sad to see it go but circumstances mean that it must. It is 240 litres with a sand substrate bottom. All of the plants are live and well established, they continue to multiply. The Java fern is flourishing and sends off little baby Java ferns all the time. The fish in the tank are:
1 x large/medium discus
2 x blue gouramis
1 x pink kissing fish
1 x little golden fish
30 - 40 x neon tetras
2 x medium sized plecos
4 x large/medium clown loaches
Shrimp (I have no idea how many there actually are as they live in hiding and breed in the tank)
Snails (both normal and assassins in a good balance)
Also, there's a few little tiny fish that hang out at the surface.
There is a sunken battleship in the tank. There is a piece of bogwood covered with Java fern and moss.
There is a very large Eheim Professional 3 external filter which is rated for a much larger tank than this one. This does mean though that it filters the water with ease, and as such I never need to do water changes. Every few months or so I clean out the filter, but that's really easy due to its internal isolation piece meaning it can be removed without spillage. The supply and return lines also have double isolating valves. The filter has three different types of media, extras of each are provided. There is also an inline hydor heater on the return line from the filter, so much better than an in tank one. The filter picks up from the two back corners via fine stainless steel meshes (protection for the filter from sand) and then returns via a long holed pipe at the back of the tank across its whole length. This custom filter setup works fantastically. The Eheim 400 air pump has dual outputs which are each then split again to provide a faint veil of bubbles across the whole back edge of the tank via a porous pipe, bubbles to the bogwood, bubbles to the ship, and bubbles to each of the front corners. There is extra sand, air piping, fish food, etc in this sale. Also the tank has a small thermometer at the front and a net is provided.
This custom fitted aquarium has been an absolutely joy. It is no hassle whatsoever, not even needing water changes. The lighting is by two fluorescent tubes, one which gives off standard white light, one a blue light, as it gives it a brilliant shine. The hood unit has front and rear access flaps and a feeding hole. The cabinet on which the tank is sat is not included in the sale, but I am open to separate offers if the buyer really wants it too.
The buyer is responsible for the wellbeing of the tank and its inhabitants during transit. I will bag up all the fish and shrimp, then I suggest the buyer takes as much of the water as possible (as its bio is perfect) for putting it all back together again at the other end. I will help with everything at this end, just message me to agree a date.
This tank is on an auction with a 99p start but a quick sale would be brilliant, so if you want it send me a message. If you have any questions, just ask. It is in Helensburgh, about 40 minutes West of Glasgow.
