Help needed!

Hi, what I'm asking for is a lot, but if you could find it in your heart you would be a true hero.
I just came out of a long term abusive relationship, which culminated in my now ex destroying nearly everything I have, apart from the clothes on my back. I am now in secure housing and he doesn't know where I am, so I am safe. People have been so very kind and donated me furniture, bed, etc, for which I am truly thankful.
Since my ex destroyed my phone and my laptop, which I need to find work (I was never allowed out of the house, even to work in the end) I've found it very hard to stay in communication with my family and friends, and move forward with my life.
If anyone has an old, pre-upgrade phone or laptop that is literally sitting doing nothing, would it be ok if I had it? I know it's really cheeky, but I don't know what else to do. You really would be a lifesaver.
I've never asked anything like this before (I put this up once before and took it down when someone helped, but it didn't come through), and I would pay full postage costs, this is embarrassing to ask, but my mother always taught me 'if you don't ask, you don't get', so here I am asking, and if you can't, thank you ever so much for your time in reading this, and I hope you have a beautiful day today, and always :) x
