Toyota Corolla 1.4 VVT-i - Have it! Love it!
Description
Toyota Corolla 1.4 VVT-i
(For busy people; specs at the end)
A great example of superb Japanese automotive engineering, the Toyota Corolla 1.4 VVT-i will surely bring a smile to any face. It’s a great car for the city and for a trip round Scotland. Very compact so parking is never an issue, though like almost all Toyotas, it does not feature a door stopping mechanism so an “Open with Caution” sign is in order. In the city, it’s very quiet and comfortable (even on the old town brick roads!) doing 32.6 mpg if you drive carefully and it’s all thanks to the VVT-i, not to bore you with technical details, so all I will say is that it’s a system that makes the engine more economical when driven calmly and more powerful when you “press it to the metal”.
Manufactured in 2002 and still, till this day has no rust on any of the body parts. This just shows that Japanese are great car manufacturers. Though they have decided to opt out of Air conditioning to reduce weight thus increasing the acceleration to a mind boggling 11.6 seconds! To compensate for the lack of a cool air blower, you can open the windows (electric) and it’s a win-win because you can cool the car and at the same time hear the roar of the four cylinder monster! Car is fitted with an alarm, original CD player and radio, tyres with a lot of tread and a full size spare wheel. Most of the servicing done at Toyota (got them stamps). Sadly this car has the same problem almost all red cars face; paint peeling. I’ve attached a photo of the bonnet for you to see how it looks, I blame it on the face-tearing acceleration of this Ferra- Toyota! Oh, did I mention that it has valid mot until 26th of February 2017!
